Hello...

Purchased a new computer...set up by the mfg. as a high-efficient digital audio workstation...but over the past few days...something happened that bogged my new system down; & now, everything is running much slower...program loading, web surfing, etc. [even the 'Quick Launch' bar is loading blanked out & completely blue (in color) at bootup, for 30 seconds; & then popping up.] Recounting my steps...only three things occurred:

1) I also do a lot of graphic related work; & wanted to be able to utilize 'Filmstrip' in my view options. When I changed to that...'Folder Options' was enabled.

2) I uninstalled Windows Messenger (by using the correct applet...Add/Remove Programs > Windows Components.)

3) By doing one or the other of those two things...'Automatic Updates' switched itself on (had been turned off by the PC's mfg.) So yesterday, it downloaded & installed 7 new Windows updates.

4) I also noticed that my Processor Scheduling is set to 'Background Services'. I haven't talked to tech support yet...but I can't imagine they would set it up that way on an audio machine.

Sure hope I can get this thing back to its previous, lightning quick performance level.

Thanks,
