Error message on startup |
|
|
I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 Notebook, with Microsoft XP SP2.
Often, when I startup my computer, I get a message something like this.
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs
to close.
If I click "details", it says the error signature is szAppZName - svchost.exe
(This problem seems to have started or gotten worse after I installed McAfee
Security Suite. I don't know if it's related.)
Any ideas on why this happens, and what I can do to fix this? |

Looks like malware. You may even have installed the McAfee over this
malware. Please see this site: http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm |

I was getting this same error message, but not on every startup. And
according to the posts I read, many others were also experiencing the same
problem. I recently got the error again and this time when I sent the error
report, there was a solution ready for download. Since downloading, I have
not received the error message again. |

I have Mcafee Security Suite, Ad-Aware, & Spybot.
Isn't it very unlikely that I have malware? |
