How to uninstall Windows XP |
|
|
Not as simple as they would have you believe.
I have been using Windows XP for a while, no problems.
Then wham bam, Viruses/Spywares bigtime.
I have run all the cleaning programs but I have a deep rooted Trojan (which appears to mimic a windows file) that even after a thorough cleaning reappears and start the process over.
So simple solution - unistall Windows and then reload from disc. But in reality every time I go to reload from disc I get a message that the WindowXP on my computer is a newer version than the one on the disc?
I was told this might be because of Service pack 2 update.
I was told just unistall Service Pack 2. Simple right!
But when I go into Control Panel - then - Add or remove Program - all my other programs are the but not WindowXP or Windows Service Pack 2 either.
They just do not show up there.
If I try to delete WindowsXP directly (by trashing the whole folder) I get the Windows is the OP system and can not be deleted.
So my great Windows Sage - how do I remove WindowXP so I can Install the original uncorrupted version off the disc again?
All help would be greatly appreciated. But keep it simple I'm a Windows/Computer user not a tech, make sure your instructions are step by step, so a 8 year old would understand, because thats about my level.
Thanks in Advance
