Wireless Strong but NO IP |
|
|
I have a Toshiba Tecra Laptop. Actually i have 90 of them to configure. I noticed instantly that they were not connecting. It did not make sense because the OS X machines and Linux machines connect without problems.
----------
I am sure this has been delt with on this forum but when I tried to SEARCH the search said it could not find any topics with the KEY WORD wireless.
I have spent 4 hours researching this.
------------
Details
XP has the newest updates and the INTEL wifi card has the newest drivers. I have tried both windows managed and intel software managed setups.
---------------
The network has 128 bit wep. I have the connectiong working on 2 other machines so I can assume the KEY is fine.
-----------------
TCP IP is responding via the LAN where cabeled. When switched to wireless I can ping the local machine and loop back address.
---------
The wirless info says it has a strong signal but I never get an IP from the dhcp server. When wired, everything is fine.
------------
Any ideas?
