I just purchased a Dell Dimension 5000 w/ WINXPSP2 , w/SoundMax Integrated
Digital Audio. It came w/2 small desktop speakers from Dell.I just bought
Logitech x530 5.1 surround sound speakers.I recently found out I need to get
a better sound card.Anyway, can someone tell me why my speakers buzz. They
don't do it all the time but when they do it's annoying.I've change my
speaker settings in ctrl panel
(sounds & devices). They crackle & buzz when I am listening to music or not,
they do this every 2 to 3 minutes.

Internal interferance?? You may be "hear" the power supply and/or the power
moving around the internal components. You may have better sound with a
separate sound card. Look at the Creative Labs/Sound Blaster offerings.

Little is more anoying than noise every two to three minutes. Most noise like that comes from a short in a cable or to the jack that a cable plugs into. Wiggle the 'line in' cable next to each end. If that causes the noise, then that's the problem.
