I have tried to view any form of video or TV with MCE and the message above
comes up. I have done all the updates and have had no luck. I have an ASUS
P5S800-VM-UAYGZ motherboard with integrated video and a ULTRAVIEW DVB-T lite
HD capture card. MCE finds all the channels but wont let me view them,
suggesting that i restart MCE or the computer in order to use that function.
Please Help :(

No, no, no. A thousand times NO. This has nothing whatever to do with whether
Intel do or do not support MCE with their integrated graphics. Before I
responded to the OP for the first time I actually Googled on the Asus model
number. If you had done the same you would have found as I did that this
motherboard has an SiS 661FX chipset
http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=146&model=374&modelmenu=1
Ergo my response was correct. The integrated graphics on this motherboard are
not suitable for MCE & never will be. Luckily it has a free AGP slot & purchase
of a $50 Nvidia FX5200 graphics card will enable the OP to view video within
MCE.

Agreed but that's not the problem in this case.

The OP said nothing about being able to play a DVD. In fact (s)he said they
couldn't play any video or TV.

I suggest checking to be sure that the BDA drivers are installed for his
DVB-T cand and that the Decoder he has installed is compatible with MCE by
using the Decoder Check Utility available from MS at the following link.

Doubtless all good advice but it doesn't help the fact that the integrated
graphics is unsupported & will never work. It will save the OP a lot of grief
with fruitless troubleshooting to just plug in a $50 Nvidia FX5200 which will
cure the problem.

What part of the error message "Video card or drivers are not supported
with
MCE" don't you understand? It is perfectly clearly telling you what the
problem
is. Your integrated graphics are not supported by MCE. Buy a supported
graphics
card from this list
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/partners/dfw/partnerlisting.mspx

Since many ASUS motherboards with onbord graphics use the Intel Graphics
then his graphics are fully supported by INTEL for MCE use infact Microsoft
and INTEL have been working closly together on MCE systems for the last
couple of years. Also many of the Gateway MCE systems have the INTEL
onboard graphics. It would be up the manufacturers of the MOBOS using the
Intel graphics and not INTEl themselves to request approval from MS for
listing on the apporved list and MOBOS are not one of the items eligable for
the list..

You are correct I tried to find the OP's exact model on the ASUS website and
could not and the closest model I could find used the Intel graphics which
is why I sated that his might. If I had found his exact card with its SIS
video I would also now that he needed a new card. At least we were both
following the right path and you found the answer using Google and did not
using the ASUS North American site.

No, no, no. A thousand times NO. This has nothing whatever to do with
whether
Intel do or do not support MCE with their integrated graphics. Before I
responded to the OP for the first time I actually Googled on the Asus

Ergo my response was correct. The integrated graphics on this motherboard

not suitable for MCE & never will be. Luckily it has a free AGP slot &

Thanks to both of you. I put a FX5200 in and Presto! I have never had such
excellent response from a newsgroup. Thanks again.
