When you formatted your c:drive you essentially cut the head off the snake. All the pointers to your programs on D: drive were deleted permanently. Even though the body is on D: drive you are asking to fix every nerve in a spinal column. This can be done but only if the person fixing this knows exactly what was installed on you computer and exactly where it was installed. This includes updating all the new registry settings (from installing the OS again) to show locations of all programs on D: drive and where the EXE and supporting files are located. I know many if not all game programs place some files on the OS partition the other game files in a location designated by the user or by what the game app deteremines to be a default location.

The easiest way to fix this is to reinstall each application, program, game to the same location. This will update the new os and registry settings and the menus.

Then I would recommend two things.
One. When experimenting I alway try it on a computer that I do not care if I screw it up. If I have to rebuild it so what. I have a earlier computer I kept that I have messed around with and screwed it up many times and learned how to fix.

Two. Use a product like Ghost 10.0 (see Norton website. I personally like Ghost 2003 that it also comes with) to save the image of your C: partition.

After you re-install everything and have all the settings the way you like them then use Ghost. You can save the image of the C: partition to the D:partition (if you have the room and with the price of harddrives these days that should be easy.)

Now if you screw it up or you get a virus or Trojan program you can reimage you machine back to the way you had in about 10-30 minutes depending on your image size. A much easier and efficient method.

Keep all you data on the d: drive or other so it is not lost if C: is screwed.

If you want to make changes to your OS or install a new program you can always save a new image.

Good luck Confused
