I am unable to get XP to boot up completely:

When starting Windows XP I get to "Loading Personal Settings"
then
Windows flickers & goes to "Saving Personal Settings"

This is an endless loop that I can't get out of, any suggestions?

Your Windows seems to shutdown automatically, you should try to find out what causes that. Try Safe Mode or debug mode.
