I can't connect to the Internet Wirelessly |
|
|
I own a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 laptop computer.
It has a Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card.
Here is the thing:
When I connect to the internet through a ethernet cable, it works just fine.
But, when I try to do it wirelessly, I do receive the signal, the signal is good.
The connection status says connected.
I do have an IP adress.
Programs like Windows Live Messenger, Skype do NOT connect.
I tried turning off the firewall and I don't have any antivirus on.
Web pages do not load.
I know there is internet connection because programs like Ares and
Warcraft III online work perfectly.
I used a web explorer differently from Internet Explorere and it works on a few pages, but mostly it's the same problem.
I formated my computer to take care of any virus or spyware that it might have been in the computer.
I have another laptop computer connected to that same modem and it works perfectly fine.
In my school we have wireless internet.
When I went there, people from my school configured it with Intranet settings. The computers works perfectly as if connected with an ethernet cable. But here at home it doesn't work.
I tried updating my driver but it doesn't have any more updates. |
