Problem after upgradation |
|
|
I was running WIN98SE on my PC, recently I upgraded it to WinXP (Pro). But I
have run into a unknown problem. The ugrade was done without any problem, but
while operating it the system just restarts itself in a middle of program
after say around 10 to 15 Minute most often and sometime in around 45
minutes. In WIN98SE I did'nt encounter any such problem. I also re-installed
WIN98SE to check if there was any hardware problem but WIN98SE was running
fine without any problem.I tried fresh installation of XP as well but the
same problem persist. Below is my machine's configuration:
CPU Type Intel Pentium IIIE, 800 MHz
Motherboard Chipset Intel Whitney i810E
System Memory 128 MB
BIOS Type Award Modular (01/08/01)
Video Adapter Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller
3D Accelerator Intel i752
Monitor LG 500E (133836173)
Audio Adapter Intel 82801AA I/O Controller Hub - AC'97
Audio Adapter
Floppy Drive GENERIC NEC FLOPPY DISK
Disk Drive 40 GB Sygate 5600 rpm
Optical Drive LG CD-RW
Network Adapter PPP Adapter.
Modem V92 Analog PnP Modem
Can anyone help me out, please. |

Hi Pinke,
Sounds like a driver hosed along the way. Do you get the crash screens after
the error? Do you send them along to MS? If not, you should , as they go
into an online database, and sometimes it will respond with instructions for
fixing what ails you.
I would also go in to the Control Panel and look for System and Device
Manager and see if there are any yellow bangouts indicating a driver issue.
