Hi All,
The Windows Messenger is not responding to SIP SUBSCRIBE
messages.

Scenario is : Two users (A & B) have registered with the SIP Proxy, but when
User A tries to add User B to this contact list.
User A sends the SUBSCRIBE message to User B. The Ethereal traces shows that
User B has recieved the SUBSCRIBE message, but no response to the SUBSCRIBE
is sent to that message.

Why is it that Windows messenger is not responding to this SUBSCRIBE message
?

I have also tried adding User A to User B's contact list and problem still
persists.

Any info on this will be really helpful.

I am running this on WinXP - Service Pack 2

Windows Messenger versions used 5.1.0701 and 5.1.0680

Regards

If you are utilizing LCS 2005 Enterprise Edition, it may be that User A and
User B are pointed to the server name or the server IP and not to the Pool
Name.
What version of LCS 2005 are you utilizing?

Hi Bob,
I am not using the Live Communication Server (LCS). The
SIP Proxy is a third-party
software. The Ethereal traces shows that the Windows Messenger machine has
received the SUBSCRIBE
message.
It is also sent on the port on which the Windows Messenger has registered
through the REGISTER message,
specified in the Contact header.

Thanks
