Saved moviemake project on CD blurry |
|
|
When I watch my moviemake project via my DVD player on TV, the image is crisp
and clear. When I watch it on my computer (using Power DVD) it looks blurry.
I am burning Super Video CD (SVCD) after converting project to MPEG2 using
TMPGenc. Any thoughts?

TV's display interlaced images, which if you saved your movie as dv-avi then
converted to mpeg2 the movie would be interlaced. Pc's display progressive
signals, so you'd need to de-interlace or save the movie as a wmv and then
convert to mpeg2. This wouldn't show up well on a tv though.

OK, tried your idea but TMPGec doesn't recognize WMV file so I cannot convert
it to mpeg2. (I can play the wmv file on Mediaplayer, but it would be nice
to save both types of files on CD to send to friends, giving them the option
of watching on their computer or on their DVD). Hope you can help. Thanks.

Drag and drop the WMV into TMPGEnc from your file browser, or change the
drop-down list in TMPGEnc to see all file types, and it should accept it.

OK, I have converted WMV file to mpeg so I can burn it to SVCD. I burned
both types of files (one for DVD watching and one for MediaPlayer watching),
but now media player shuts down when I try to play the CD, error encountered.
Do you think saving both movie formats on one CD is possible? I have
burned the WMV file directly to CD (using right click, send to) which is
great, but then I cannot burn my MPEG video to that same disc. Nero asks for
blank disc.
Thank you so much for your help.

I don't know if you can mix two kinds of files on a disc without confusing
the players... how would they know which one to open.
For computer playback, you could copy the files to a data disc and
selectively pick the ones to open, so it might work there... a good thing to
try.

Yes, I can see that working. My goal was to have a simple way of sending one
CD to friends that would play clearly on DVD and on the computer. Thank you
anyway for all of your help. This is the first time I've tried this

Got a quick reply.
It's in the authoring software.
If you use a top end app like Ulead DVD workshop2, tehn you get a choice in
the authoring stage to selct the files you want on the dvd and at this stage
yo can selct to add a dv-avi or wmv for pc plaback, which wlill be outside
of the authored dvd image, thereby giving you a dvd / pc playable dvd.
Not sure which if any lower end authoring apps will allow this I'm afraid.

Movie Factory also allows you to do this. It gives you the option of adding
source files to the disk before burning. But your right Workshop2 gives you
more control in that it actually allows you to create a directory and put
any support files you want on it. The free trial version (link on my
website) of workshop2 will allow this as well so you can check it out before
you spend the high sticker price of workshop2.

OK, I have converted WMV file to mpeg so I can burn it to SVCD. I
burned
both types of files (one for DVD watching and one for MediaPlayer
watching),
but now media player shuts down when I try to play the CD, error
encountered.
Do you think saving both movie formats on one CD is possible? I
have
burned the WMV file directly to CD (using right click, send to) which
is
great, but then I cannot burn my MPEG video to that same disc. Nero
asks
for
blank disc.
Thank you so much for your help.

OK, tried your idea but TMPGec doesn't recognize WMV file so I
cannot
convert
it to mpeg2. (I can play the wmv file on Mediaplayer, but it
would be
nice
to save both types of files on CD to send to friends, giving them
the
option
of watching on their computer or on their DVD). Hope you can
help.
Thanks.

TV's display interlaced images, which if you saved your movie as

then
converted to mpeg2 the movie would be interlaced. Pc's display
progressive

and
then
convert to mpeg2. This wouldn't show up well on a tv though.

When I watch my moviemake project via my DVD player on TV, the
image
is
crisp

looks
blurry.
I am burning Super Video CD (SVCD) after converting project to
MPEG2
using
TMPGenc. Any thoughts?

Sounds a bit too technical to me, but I'll give it a try. Thanks.

source files to the disk before burning. But your right Workshop2 gives you
more control in that it actually allows you to create a directory and put
any support files you want on it. The free trial version (link on my
website) of workshop2 will allow this as well so you can check it out before
you spend the high sticker price of workshop2.

Got a quick reply.
It's in the authoring software.
If you use a top end app like Ulead DVD workshop2, tehn you get a choice
in the authoring stage to selct the files you want on the dvd and at this
stage yo can selct to add a dv-avi or wmv for pc plaback, which wlill be
outside of the authored dvd image, thereby giving you a dvd / pc playable
dvd.
Not sure which if any lower end authoring apps will allow this I'm afraid.

Yes, I can see that working. My goal was to have a simple way of
sending one
CD to friends that would play clearly on DVD and on the computer. Thank
you
anyway for all of your help. This is the first time I've tried this
interactive site, and I'm really impressed.

For computer playback, you could copy the files to a data disc and

thing to
try.
