I have an mpeg video that I have watched several times in MCE. As of
recent however, I get the message "Cannot Play Video - Media Center has
encountered an unknown error." The video plays regularly in the Media
Player and all other players. Why would it stop working with MCE?

I have this too. It typically means you don't or MCE most likely can't
find the correct codec to decompress your video clip... even though you
may already.

I've reinstalled sw DVD player, mpeg2 codec and still to no avail...

I'm convinced MCE is a piece of CRAP.. I've spent unbelieve amount of
money, time and effort and still can't get it to work... and all it
is, is a glorified picture viewer, movie player..

you would have thought they use the same media services middleware as
the Mediaplayer itself...

How can MS be proud to push this?
