I recently used up all the space on my hard drive and I couldn't record any
tv in MCE. I then deleted a bunch of stuff and freed up about 30GB, but
Media Center still says I have zero minutes available to record and whenever
I try to record tv I get an error message saying recording could not be
scheduled. Please restart Media Center and try again. Nothing I do seems to
work. Any help would be appreciated.

Within Media Center, goto
Settings, TV, Recorder, Recorder Storage.
Under the Maximum TV limit, what is that set to?

How many hours of available recording time is shown?

when you set up the mce you have a choice of how much of your hard
drive you want to devote to mce and how much to other stuff. Perhaps
the mce has used up the space you allotted to it (or the default, if
you haven't used this option) even though there is more space available
for other stuff on your drive.

It is set to 25GB. I just noticed that it is no longer seeing the shows I
had previously recorded. In any event I opened the recorded tv folder and
deleted some items so there is more than enough space, but it still says
0min. available record time. Maybe it is having a problem reading the
correct storage folder?

Can you change the drive letter to something other than C:\, and then change
it back?

If that doesn't work, I'll give you the registry keys to check (hoping it
won't have to come to that due to the nature of registry editing)...

I tried changing the drive letter and changed it back and that did not work.
Anything else you can think of?

Thanks,
JR

I have the same problem and I am having problems changing the recorder levels
in MCE. I have over 300Gig free but only have 10G set in MCE and cant change
it so would love some help with the registry keys to set the recorder levels
as I feel this is what is stopping me recording
