Stable XPE image from USB BOOTdrive |
|
|
Hi all
after nearly 100 hours of searching in the dark I succeed to build a
STABLE XPE image which runs direct from USB drive (HD, Flash)as BOOTDEVICE
und looks very like XPPro. There is a page from Microsoft
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/usb-boot.mspx and now I am
shure, that they didnt tell the truth. XP works wonderfull with Bootdrive
USB and I CAN'T understand, why they make such a side, because they must
know that it is possible (or perhaps, because they know?). I knows from
udoc, that they have a USB solution with a SCSI miniportdriver, working
only on their USB flash drives (hi Slobodan). My solution costs nothing
and works anywhere...hihihihi. I am interested whether any of this forum
has done something like before.
Nice to hear from You

Hi Dietmar,
That's great news. How long are you going to keep us in suspense?

Hi Dietmar,
You should not have searched trough the dark, some info were present here for years:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.embedded/browse_frm/thread/8f3b37449a207ea6/76fee8fe37de7204#76fee8fe37de7204
Also there were other threads as well with probably even more info.

Bold claim: "Works anywhere".
Try SP2, try Intel manufactured motherboards.

Slobodan
