My company recently purchased 10 HP LaserJet 4 Printers. Functionally
they all print internal test prints. When I connect them up to various
Dell systems in our office, Windows XP Pro detects the printers, and
installs them. However, when we try a test print, nothing is printed. I
have tried several Computers and had the same result. I have another
Dell/WinXP Pro system where it installs and runs correctly.

So far I have tried:
1. Re-installing the driver.
2. Updating the drivers from HP.
3. Tried each of the Parallel port settings in the BIOS. (ECP, EPP,
PS/2, & AT). The only variance here is when I set it to AT and
rebooted, the test print printed when Windows came up (it was left in
the queue). But then nothing else printed.
4. Installed the Windows updates.

I have followed as many of the Usenet options as I could find.

Any info would be great.
Steve
