You need to have administer power, rights to add the printer. Try
logging in as the administer if you can and give yourself admin
rights.

I am trying to install a printer on an XP workstation, using tcp/ip
but the
local printer install option is greyed out. i am logged in as a user.
I have
setup a group policy on active directory but have not changed any of
the
options that relate to printers. Anyone know why?
