I have just downloaded and installed SP2, however, after i restart it wont
load up, it will reach the xp logo and the scrolling bar and restart., but
will work fine in safe mode, which is how im doing this.

Any advice would be much appreciated

If its any use im running an AMD athlon 64, MSI board and corsair RAM

Once you're in XP in Safe Mode, Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
(ensure the box for hide updates is NOT checked) and remove it.

Then visit your motherboard manufacturer's website and look for a BIOS
update.
