thumbnails/previewing 16-bit images |
|
|
Hi. It looks like when there are 16-bit images in my pictures folder, they
cannot be previewed by windows (the image viewer program I guess), and all I
get is the "drawing failed" message, and no viewable thumbnail. 8-bit images
are previewed and thumbnailed as normal. Is there any way (such as a
software update, configuration change, etc) to make windows able to preview
and thumbnail 16-bit images? (by the way, these are tiff images I am working
with). Thanks! |

Depends. Some 16 bit-per-pixel images should work in Windows Picture and
Fax Viewer. Where did these 16bpp images come from? Are they actual TIF
files or a RAW format with a TIF extension (like from a dSLR)? If not from
a camera, what program saved them?
Thanks,
