I can't work out how to get signed easily on to Windows Messenger. Messenger
isn't in "All Programs" in my Start Menu and there is no icon in my Task bar.
Presently I am having to do an search in "Help and Support" and then
selecting " Open Windows Messenger" from the search result. The Messenger
icon then appears in the task bar and I can sign in and sign out as often as
I like during the session, but once I turn the PC off and then back on again,
the icon has disappeared and I have to go through the Help and Support route
again.

Greetings,

The easiest solution would be to either install Windows Messenger 5.1 from here:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8d9eb73-5f8c-4b9a-940f-9157a3b3d774

or use MSN Messenger instead:
