MCE 2005 Dual TV tuner question/problem |

I watch a lot of TV (maybe too much), and with MCE (esp HP's Digital
Entertainment Center z545) I archive my favorite TV shows like you wouldn't
believe.
Now a couple of the shows I record air back to back on the same channel.
I'm aware of the Advanced Recording options, and that MCE's Recorder Settings
allow you to record a few mintues before and after the shows.
So I perfer to record my shows 1 minute before and after each show. (try
to stay with me guys because I'm going to try and explain this the best way I
can and I'm no expert on computers) Now in this particular issue it was
expected that the first show record the first minute of the second show, and
that the second show was to record the last minute of the first show ( I know
it sounds a little confusing but with dual tuners I expected it to work).
Well what happened is that the first show recorded just fine, it recorded its
extra minutes on both ends of the show, the second show however, began where
the first show ended ( meaning it started recording 2 minutes late, and it
recorded on the same TV tuner).
I've tried recording both shows on time, without scheduling any extra
minutes. I even tried adjusting the time on my computer, but sometimes the TV
networks start a show a few minutes early or late ect,ect. and I still find
that occasionally both shows are coming up short.
The reason I even bother with this is I'd like to burn these shows to disc
because this company is often relunctant to put any of their TV shows on DVD,
and I'd like not to have to deal with abrupt cuts on my recordings.
Sorry it took so long, but my question is..."Is there a way around this
recording issue?", "Is there a way to chose which tuner you'd like for each
of your scheduled shows to record on?" |
