Not your ordinary remote ir transmitter problem? |
|
|
OK,
I've installed the MCE2005, Microsoft Remote control 1039 with eHome
transmitter. It changes channels with 99%+ accuracy when I am changing the
channel using the remote.
The problem: IF I schedule a recording with the guide at least several
hours before the start of the tv program, AND IF MCE has been sitting idle
for several hours before the scheduled recording, THEN the ir blaster refuse
to change the channel on the cable box.
However, IF I have another scheduled recording 30 min. after the begining of
failed one, THEN ir transmitter will change the channel properly and record a
proper program.
It is as if the first attempt did not work after being in idle for a while,
but it was enough to "wake up" the ir transmitter for the next hour or so.
The power management is configured to disable standby and hybernation
All USB ports are set to not allow power management
So why is my ir transmitter going "sleep" for the first scheduled recording
after some time idling? Please help as this problem is making my MCE useless
for what I intended this to be... |

I am having the same problem. Yesterday I tried to record three shows. The
first two failed to change correctly - the third did change to the correct
channel but recorded in the middle of the show (like the time is wrong in
guide or pc - which they are not!).
I even tried setting my sat box to desired channel, and then I get a black
screen with the correct sound.
.... but if I sit right there and record within 1/2 hour of programming - it
works fine ????
Hibrinate is off - all power mangmnt off (windows and bios).
Please help MCE!
