I'm running Windows XP home SP2. I just installed a second physical hard
drive on as a sub on the IDE chain. I partitioned and formatted it as an NTSF
drive. I can access, write and read to folders and files on this drive
without problems. However when I start re-organizing my files by moving
files and folders into a newly created folder, I can't access the moved files
anymore. I can't get them out of the newly created folder and I can't delete
them. I just get the "access denied" message. I don't think It's a
permission or ownership issue because I was able to access the files and
folders before moving them. I have'nt changed the user. I tested the hard
drive using a utility downloaded from the Maxtor website and the drive is not
defective. I'm at a loss. I tried to convert the drive to FAT32 using
partition magic but it won't convert. The boot drive, c: drive, works
perfectly. I can move files and folders without losing access. Any help
would really be appreciated.
