I just got a new Dell computer. I paid for Media Edition 2005, my invoice
says 2005, and the little instruction book I got with it says 2005. When I
click on "Start," then "Help and Support," the help window that pops up says
"Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004" in the upper right corner. How can I
tell if I have 2004 or 2005?

I had a similar issue with my VAIO that had MCE04 but if right-clicking ny
computer it read MCE02. Try actually going into MC itself and go to "about"
(scroll down) and see what version is there. It could be that the machine
shipped with )$ but was upgraded to 05.

I don't see "about" inside Media when I scroll down.

My Computer -> Properties: MCE 2002
Help and Support: MCE 2004
Media Center -> About: MCE 2005

Gee, what's so confusing about that!? ;-)
