NVIDIA Decoder Problem |
|
|
My MCE 2005 machine will not work with the NVIDIA DVD decoder for some
reason... I have tried v1.00.67 and v1.00.58, but still get a an error when
trying to view Live TV and nothing happens when trying to play a DVD.
I have used the NVIDIA DVD Decoder before with MCE, but this is fresh
install of MCE. I was using just WinDVD 6 with no problems, but uninstalled
it to go with NVIDIA.
I have also checked out the Video Decoder Checkup Utility and it lists the
NVIDIA Decoder as prefered.
Anyone else having troubles? Anyone have any fixes? |

You have purchased a copy? Whilst there is a trial it is a trial and stops
working.

I had a similar issue with the 1.00.58 version when I tried it, never could
get it to work. I got the 1.00.67 version with my NVTV card, and that one
worked instantly.
I, too, went through all the hoops with decoders, making sure everything else
was removed, using the codec util to make sure it was the selected one, etc..
I never could get it to go. I don't know what happened with the 1.00.67
version to work fine for me instantly without any problems, but it did.
Did you try 58 or 67 first?

I just did a fresh format and install of MCE 2005, installed drivers for my
NFORCE motherboard, then ForceWare 71.25 for my 6600GT, then the 1.00.67
version of the NVIDIA DVD Decoder, then my ATI eHome Wonder drivers... Load
up MCE 2005, run through the TV setup, and STILL the same Decoder error.
What the heck is going on?????

What sound card do you have? I have seen posts in another forum that the
NVIDIA DVD decoder has trouble with some sound cards or may need updated
drivers for the sound card.
