I currently have MCE 2005 and have noticed that when I play a DVD using
PowerDVD the resolution is significantly better than if I play the *same*
DVD through media center. I am using DVI output to an HD television and I
have verified the settings and run the configuration tool for the monitor.
Is the signal quality loss inherent to MCE or is this something unusual? It
appears that I am using the NVIDIA decoder within MCE as I have an NVIDIA
tuner.
While this is likely not a problem when I view TV, when I view DVDs the loss
of quality is annoying and distracting. The difference is noticable on both
a 23" LCD monitor and a 57" Plasma.
