at password access my password is accepted and a window comes up " This copy
of Windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you
want to activate Windows now?" When yes is selected my desktop backgroubd
comes up but then windows indicates it is loggin off. I have tried several
times and the same occurs.

Please help.

Try booting into Safe Mode and activating from there. Boot the system,
start tapping F8 and do so until the menu appears, select Safe Mode and
press enter. At Safe Mode, one of the logon options should show a user ID
with the name Administrator, select that one, leave the password blank and
press enter. Once logged in, decline the option to go to System Restore and
attempt to activate the system.
