Any direction would of course be greatly appreciated. Machine started
randomly slowing and locking up. Task manager shows 100% cpu usage.
About half the time I can shut down the last opened program and it
drops to normal. i.e. open outlook express and it does not appear to
open yet the program- msimn shows in the process list. Happens with
various programs. Half the time I need to do a hard restart.

Event viewer shows the following:
All headed: nview_info

The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( nview_info ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The following
information is part of the event: NVIEW : Explorer: WAIT_TIMEOUT:
(process 0xf0) (thread 0x104) (wait 0x5) (pwait 0x2) WindowManager.cpp

Always several in a row.
Te only other error msg: Source SecurityCenter

The Windows Security Center Service was unable to establish event
queries with WMI to monitor third party AntiVirus and Firewall.
I shudder to think about another wipe and fresh install.

As far as a know, nveiw_info is a reference to a feature of the nVidia
graphics card. If you have such a card, you may need to reinstall the
drivers for the card or to check the card manufacturer's website for the
latest drivers. You might also check their site for a reference to this
issue.

Thank You for the reply.
Unfortunately after installing the latest nvidia driver package the
problem remains.

Then you need to check their website for references to this issue and if you
find none, you need to contact nVidia.

Hi Blaker,

Wondering what model laptop/pc you have. I'm thinking it may be the in built RAID on my laptop because the RAID service gets restarted after all these nview_info messages for each application I have open.

Did you find a fix for this?

Cheers.
