Media Center 2005 and Media Player 10 incompatibility? |
|
|
Hello.
I have a Media Center 2005, 3.4ghz proc, 1gb ram, 500gb hd, etc.
I have a Media Center Extender upstairs. There is a Media Center Extender
Resource Monitor that I received from Linksys with my Extender. It gets
loaded on the Media Center 2005. It monitors CPU util, Mem, etc.
I found it interesting that even when my Extender is shut off and I'm not
sending ANYTHING to the other TV that the CPU util was high.
I looked into it and I determined that if I run Media Player 10 to play some
..MP3s that I have there is very minimal CPU Util. When I run Media Center
and watch TV, Pictures, etc. there is little CPU Util. However, when I play
music through Media Center 2005, MAJOR CPU HOG! It will max out my 3.4ghz
CPU in a few seconds according to the monitor.
This is nuts! Do you know why this keeps happening? I want to use my Media
Center how it was intended to be used. I think it only started this issue
when Media Player 9 said to upgrade to Media Player 10.
Can you please help?
Thanks,
Josh
