If your TV was a high resolution LCD/Plasma TV, then I image you could.
If not, then it would be extremely difficult to do anything but watch
recorded TV and view photos using only your regular TV monitor. For get
about reading little fine print, even at the very biggest resolution,
you probably wouldn't be able to read most text. |

Well, yes, but if he doesn't want to use it as a regular PC, he can control
it with Remote Desktop from hs other PC. I have mine in the Living Room and
it has no monitor. The family loves it.

Ooops didn't catch the bit about surfing at the end. You will have a hard
time reading the text of the browser as noted above. I think someone
mentioned Firefox browser has some fonts that can be read when enlarged
enough, though. In I.E with the largest text, it was very poor. The bottom
line is that in it's current form, the MCE component is designed for
entertainment functions only from the armchair.

If you are using a modern high definition LCD or plasma TV web browsing will be
fine.
