Internal batteries do go out. I just had one go out in a PC that we've had
since...mmm, 1998 or thereabouts. I have one PC about 6 months older than
that one but it hasn't gone out yet. Hopefully they're removable coin-sized
batteries and getting a replacement won't be too hard.
