Explorer.exe quits! |
|
|
Hi!
Explorer.exe quits after a fraction of a second (I just see a glimps of the
taskbar).
Overview shots:
* No errormessage (maybe I can't see it?)
* no spyware or virus found
* various regedits and the one with gpedit.msc (i don't find the message
again) did not apply
* http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883791 (explorer.exe repeatedly quits
unexpectedly in windows xp) does not apply.
* safe mode start up: same problem
* repair (without recovery console) didn't make any difference
* ...
Does anyone please has some ideas to try-out before the format c?
Many thanks in advance! |

Try disabling your pop up inspector and at the same time check the options
to make sure it isn't on 'start up when windows starts up'.... turn that
part off and also manage the sites and make sure the 'url' of the site you
are trying to open is not in your 'list' of sites to block in your
inspector.... once it is disabled try to open the explorer... it should
work!

Alas, the malefactor is explorer.exe, not Iexplorer...

I would first try Start<Run< type in: SFC /SCANNOW<ENTER.
Be sure to have your windows-xp disc handy
