Card Reader does not show up any longer... |

Since out of a sudden my 6-in-1 card reader does not show up any longer in
the Work Place under Win XP. When installing the driver again, the
installation does not rund through, but ends instead with a message
"installation did not complete". I thought maybe the hardware is defect and
bought an external SanDisk 12-1 card reader that plugs into a generic USB
port. Still also this one is not showing up. Although no driver need to be
installed, and altough other USB devices (even hot-plugged) are detected
correctly.
Any idea what could be wrong?
