I'm looking on newegg.com and there are two listings for the Microsoft
Remote Control for XP MCE. I have built my own system and I plan to use it
with a satellite (Directv) system. I already have an NVidia dual tuner card
and I have MCE up and running.

My question is; will either remote control work? It appears to be the same
with the only difference that the non OEM version has a "Getting Started"
manual and an additional cord. If this is not the proper remote, could
someone please point me to the correct one.

Thanks!

Please provide a link to these remotes on Newegg & then we can tell you the
answer.

Thanks. I purchased the remote on Saturday. Had I notice your comments on
newegg I likely wouldn't have had to post! ;)

I had accidently purchased the FireFly remote at a local store on Friday.
It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that the remote was not a blaster
and couldn't control my DirecTV tuner. At least the MS remote is only $38
compared to $50 for the firefly.
