I am trying to find the Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 file to
download. I want to burn this SP2 file to a CD so I can take it home and
install it on my home system. Dailup is too slow. Can anyone give me the
link to this file? Thanks. I've searched and keep finding the patches but
not the main file.

Information is here, Dan:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx Note too, that there's
a link on the right side of the page where you can order the XP SP2 CD at no
charge, even for delivery.

I see the download page but it is not allowing me to download the file
straight to my computer. It either wants to run the windows update (which
this computer is not XP) or points me back to links that are ordering a CD or
general information about SP2. Is there something that I am missing???

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals
and Developers
is available at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a&DisplayLang=en

If that link does not work, go to downloads.microsoft.com and search for the
above title.

I was understanding that this file was only used for network upgrades? I am
only doing one computer.

It is for exactly what you are trying to do...Download it once and use it on
multiple computers. You are just only using it on 1 computer.

A little investigation of the links would lead you here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
Remember, if you have further issues, this newsgroup supports Media Center
Edition computers only. You would need to post to the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general newsgroup.
