Gigabit extender? |
|
|
I am wiring my house with cat6 ethernet cable and my MCE PC has a gigabit NIC
in it. I plan to send videos, photos, TV, and audio throughout the network. I
understand gigabit ethernet is the best for this purpose. I therefore plan to
get a gigabit switch for the planned network.
However, it appears that the only two media center extenders available are
not gigabit (ie they are only 10/100).
Is this true? In other words, the Linksys and HP extenders are not gigabit?
Will this create a bottleneck?
And, does it matter?
Thanks. |

Current MCX devices are 10/100; gigabit Ethernet wouldn't really make a
difference because MCX doesn't come close to maxing out a 100 Mbps network.
