System restore privileges failure |
|
|
Computers in our domain have been locked out from using system
restore. We get the following error message when system restore is
run.
You do not have sufficient security privileges to restore your system.
Please contact your administrator, or logout and login again as
administrator and try again.
I am the administraor for the office, and have checked my permissions.
There is also nothing set in group policy for system restore in any
local permissions or in any domian policies at any level. Other users
in our office and other offices are experiencing the same problem.
Another administrator who ahdn't rebooted for a while found he could
use system restore but when he rebooted found that he got the same
error as above. It's as if a policy had been inforced when rebooted,
yet there are no policies set lcoally or at any point in the domain.
Have tried logging into a machine with the local administrator
password and get the same problem.
Anyone have any ideas?
Another thing that is also happening that might be coincidental is
that some windows updates are showing as 0 byte files, which download
but then cant be installed. When you try and downlaod and install
them manually. You get the same error message as above about
adminsitative privileges. |
