How can I remove the audio from a clip, i.e., split the audio away the the
video portion of the clip, then delete the audio entirely. |

Thank you for that, but, is there no way to physically (digitally?) remove
the audio from the video clip (not simply mute it) so that the audio track
can be used by other audio?

yes, but even if the track is totally empty... you can't use it for other
audio... the track is linked to the video track... other audio can only be
placed on the audio/music track..

Oh well. I did read the tip on your website which demonstrates how to
"overlay" one audio track over another on the audio/music track so that they
become combined. That helps.

How about recording the audio clip using an external device to your hard
drive and then use it wherever you want.

That's a good idea. I'll try it.

How do you extract audio off the camera, but not the video? I disconnected
the video cable, but left the sound cables and it still won't seperate off
the video (just leaves a blank screen.) I want to take the audio away from
one video clip and stick it on another. I don't think I have MM2

drop the video clip onto the audio channel. It just uses the audio then.
If you want to, you can do this seperatelya dn then use save as and you
options are just to save it as an audio file. This si not really neccessary
though.
