DocumentViewer.msi error???? |
|
|
I'm using a program that came with my computer called muvee maker. It's not
too bad a program however everytime I start it up and work on a project I get
this error: DocumentViewer.msi Actually, it can't find it. I've searched
my PC but cannot find it either. Any hints? I'd like to keep using it
however this error is anoying.

Just another quick thing to add. When I tried Microsofts movie maker I get
the same error. Is this a file recognition problem? I've actually also
uninstalled the programs and re-installed them but I end up getting the same
errors. |

No. I e-mailed Muvee Maker and they told me it wasn't their problem.
I also can't even open Movie Maker now. |

The GEEK Squad says it is a spybot or adware issue. I tried cleaning my
system with spysweeper but it didn't work. Maybe there is a nother
program out there that will do it. Any suggestions? |

Re: DocumentViewer.msi error???? |

Seems there are a lot of people out there experiencing the same thing.
Have not heard of anyone successfully correcting it yet including me.
It seems this program tries to configure/install itself everytime
open a program having to do with a video file (.mpg, .avi etc.). I a
curious, is everyone that is getting this using an HP computer????
Perhaps the Media Center PC??? The installation path of c:\hp\tmp\sr
sounds like it is something that HP put in the build.
I have contacted HP several times using chat and they have said I hav
to do a destructive restpre back to factory settings. This wil
destroy all programs and settings that I have laboriously set up ove
the past two months. Not a thing I want to do . I am going to try an
get through on their support line and convince some tech that they ca
send DocumentViewer.msi to me without having to do a restore. Afte
all this looks like it is just an installation package file using M
Installer and since we purchased the computer and software from them
we have a right to get that file. Sound reasonable? |

Solution Found!
This seems to be something in the HP Image Zone software. Here is th
fix.
Go to www.hp.com. In the search box type "hp Office Jet 7410" (withou
the quotes). Select HP OfficeJet 7410 All-in-One under the selec
product heading. Select Software and driver downloads under th
Product Quick Links heading. Select Windows XP under the Operatin
System. Select HP Full Feature software/driver: Network Support unde
the Driver heading. Go to the botom of the page and click downloa
now. Do not install directly. You need to download the whole 276 Me
file.
Next, go to Control Panel/Add remove programs and remove anythin
having to do with HP Image Zone. There may be two or three of them
remove them all. Ignore the messages about loosing functionality, yo
will re-install. After removing, double click on the downloaded fil
(rub_w01_Americas_Euro01.exe). Follow the prompts to install th
replacement programs. Voila - your problem is solved. Thanks to Vidy
and HP telephone support for this solution |

The problem with programs asking to install the DV is gone but I still can't
use Sonic MyDVD to import a dvr-ms file to burn to a DVD. Has anyonefound a
solution to that (other than doing a system restore? |

| I was having this problem also. It has something to do with HP autoinstalling their software when you load certain types of files. I found a simple fix: download the Windows Install Clean Up Utility from Microsoft here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 . You may need to paste that address into your browser, for some reason it doesn't work as a link. Install that program and when you run it it will show a list of programs in your system that are using Windows Installer (drivers, start up, etc.). Delete DocumentViewer and DocumentViewerQ from this list. That's it. |
