scanned image properties simple summary

Ip am scanning my family photos for christmas. i want to be able to add
title, subjects, and coments in the simple summary in the file properties
menu so that they are associated with the file instead of with another
program that others in my family don't have. however, when i add details and
apply>ok they disappear. this has worked before, though. does anyone know
the rules to this?

For non ole files (word docs et al) you need to have NTFS formatted disk and the files can't leave the environment. That means you have to use XP to transfer the files and the other computer must be XP (and NTFS). And tre transfer must stay within the XP environment - no CDs or email in the middle.
