I could really appreciate some help - I have been struggling with this one
for some 10 hours!

I have had to re-install XP recently - and have updated to SP2.

I find that ftp does not work when ICS is enabled on my cable-modem
connection. Its bizzare. I have turned off the XP firewall (I run Zone
Alarm Pro - but that is turned off too). If I disable ICS - ftp works great.
When I enable it - ftp does not work. I have tried ticking and unticking
the use passive ftp box in Internet Options - no difference.

I am bemused as I know this configuration worked fine previously - prior to
re-install. I need the ICS as I use a laptop connected through a wireless
access point - and have a MAC Bridge Miniport set up.

I don't know if it is related - but I have some straneg behaviours with the
Bridge and wireless network that has started - which means that the laptop
seems to fail to get a DHCP IP address... That used to work also.

I have seen posts in other places where users have had problems with getting
ftp to work on SP2 with ICS enabled. The solution provided there was to
reset the XP firewall defaults - and then unsellect the connections to which
it applies. This certainly does the trick - ftp works - but this is because
of a (rather strange) side effect of also disabling ICS for the connection.

Please - does anyone ave any informed opinion on the problem with ftp and
Sharing???? I would be most appreciative.
