You probably installed a new application, and that application changed your
file associations. Do this:
1. In Windows Explorer, click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
2. The Folder Options dialog appears. Click the File Types tab.
3. In the Registered File Types list, scroll down to MP3. As a shortcut, you
can click in the list, and then type 'MP3" on your keyboard.
4. At the bottom of the dialog, you will see the Details For MP3 Extension.
If it doesn't show the application you normally use to open MP3 files
(probably Windows Media Player), click the Change button, click Windows Media
Player in the Open With dialog. Make sure the Always Use The Selected Program
To OPen This Kind Of File checkbox is selected, and then click OK.
5. Click Close to return to Windows Explorer, and try and open an MP3 file.
