audio device problems |

playback device installed on my machine. I have tested all my drivers and
updated them, but when i try and play a file, I get an error message
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with
your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your

Is it a Soundblaster? WMP does not interact well with their
products/drivers. Try this:
1. In WMP go to Tools > Options >Devices
2. Click on Speakers, then the Properties button
3. Change the device from whatever is listed to "Default DirectSound
Device" (or if it is that already, change it to the other listed item
matching your soundcard). |
