I purchased and downloaded a CD from MSN Music and when I try to burn it to
a physical CD it doesn't start the burn. there are no error messages, it
just doesn't do anything. I thought I could burn to CD a limited number of
times. Is that true? I can burn other library files fine. What could be
causing this?

Thanks

Have you checked the website from where you downloaded the music?
It may have a copyright infringement attached disabling copying. If you
paid for it, it's yours but making copies for friends or relatives is illegal.

I got it from MSN music and according to their web site I should be able to
burn it to CD 7 times.

What application are you using to burn? Create a data disk and make sure
you finalize it when completed otherwise it will not play.

I'm using Windows Media Player 10 under XP. I don't see why that shouldn't
work.
It works for everything else. The files download as WMA files. Most of the
stuff in my library is MP3. Do I have to do something different because of
that??

As it turns out it had nothing to do with licensing or anything like that. I
simply had a bad entry in the playlist. There was a duplicate track name and
it was pointing to the wrong file. I don't know how it got there but once I
deleted it things started working.

Thanks for the suggestions.
