I recently had the option to update my media player on the internet and
stupidly i clicked OK. Since having downloaded it i now can't use my Media
Player at all. It won't even open. Any suggestions what i can do to have it
back again? I'm clueless when it comes to computers.

Did you download WMP version 10? Did you install it overtop of your previous
version? Do not delete the old version. Installing WMP10 should be done
right
on top of the old version and will replace necessary files and keep your
library.

Now I had an almost identical problem.
I downloaded Version 10 right over the top of Verison 9. It worked fine for
a while but in stuffing up creating a new playlist I somehow I corrupted one
of the WMP .exe files. The result was that double clicking on my 'shortcut'
didnt do anything at all.
Eventually, and dont ask me how, I got an error message to say that WMP 'was
expecting' a 'different [previous] version' of a particular .exe file.
As I keep a mirror image of my hard drive I restored the previous version
and 'hey presto' everything has been ok since.
I am sorry I cant be more specific but I didnt make any notes as to exactly
what the error message referred to and what caused the problem in the first
place.
Hope this helps.

I can't conceive of how that happened unless you deliberately tried to
save a playlist in a system folder and gave it the name of a WMP file.
