If you want to save your movie to a CD/DVD for play on a DVD player, what is
the best format to save the movie in. Movie Maker saves the movie in a wmv
file. Is it best to convert this file to some other file type before burning
it to a CD or DVD? What DVD players will play a wmv file. I bought a HIGHMat
Panasonic, but it says it supports WMA files, but does not mention WMV.

Use firewire and capture in DV-AVI format. If editing in
MM, then save again as DV-AVI. Import avi file into
authoring software (MyDVD, etc). Burn! On average, can fit
about 1hr (13GB) on to a DVD.

As far as I can tell from this board, the HIGHMat players
will only play the audio when saved to a CD. They won't
play video yet.

WMA is a Audio file format like Mp3, WMV is Video like MEPG. I do not
beleive that there is a DVD plaver that will play WMV's, only DVD's and VCD.
