Try using System Restore to take your system back to a time prior to when
this began.
Spysweeper tends to produce a lot of false positives. Also, as is the case
with any "cleaning" program, there's a chance you'll delete or otherwise
remove something the system needs or to which system files are attached,
thus causing issues such as you describe. Rule of thumb on deletions and
removals, when in doubt, don't! At least thoroughly check them out.
