Using win Xp Pro,can I delete office XP setup files? The explaination
states that these files[about 200Meg] can be deleted but I would need
the disk to install or re install or possibly update. This is for the
licence number.
Isn't the licence number saved within the program or registry so
there is no need for these files?

Hi Joe,

If you need to install optional components of office later on, you will be prompted for the disks.
This is what the message means. I dont quite get the "licence number" part of your question.

Maybe my memory of the window is wrong.I thought it said that I would

need these files or the disks. The disk has the key number[if that is the
correct phrase] Well the office manager has the disks so I may just
delete these files.
I really have to write down or copy and paste window into a file to
print out.

What the message really means is that if you delete the temp office files, you will be prompted to
insert the office install disks if you decide to install other office components in the future. If
you have the office disks (which you should since you installed office from there), then you should
face no problems.
