Hello All

An easy one: I'm trying to add a program to auto start on a friend's XP
laptop. Is it the same as Win98? While on the phone with her, she check and
said there does not appear to be a C:Windows/start menu/program/ StartUp
folder. Did she simply miss it or is the startup folder some place else in
XP?

Thanks.

Windows NT / 2000 / XP and 2003 are different than Windows 9x/ME. These are
multi-user systems and each user defined has their own Start-up
menus/documents and local files. The path is: C:\Documents and
Settings\<username\.....

She just missed it. Have her right-click on the Start button and then

have her Explore her user Start Menu. The Startup folder will be there
and she can put a shortcut to her executable there. Or she can go
through the Wizard to add a shortcut and put it in the Startup folder.
