MSN Desktop Search Software |
|
|
I recently installed MSN Desktop Search software on 2 machines: 1 WinXP Home
and 1 WinXP Professional (all patches, etc.).
Interesting thing happened....my Excel default setting for "Ask to updated
automatic links" became unchecked. I use Excel a lot and have many linkages
(some local and some network); therefore, I need to have every file ask me
to update. Not sure why that happened, but it happened on both machines. It
was an easy fix, but I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing this.
Go to Excel | Tools | Options | Edit ---there you'll find a check box with
"Ask to update automatic links." Normally, this is always checked. Is
yours unchecked after installing this software?
Thanks for any feedback.

I just ran a test of the same situation, and my Excel setting did NOT
change.
